Keys Craft - Butterfly

As years go by, we tend to accumulate keys - spare keys and keys we no longer use. What can one do with them? Here is what I did.
I assembled the keys and arranged them into butterfly form. I looked for other metal shapes to complete the butterfly look (the body and antennae).
I planned to use craft acrylic paint so I needed to prime the keys assembly. I used gray paint primer in spray form.
I applied craft acrylic paint using rubber foam (to minimize brush strokes). But in the end, I still used brush, especially in the borders between colors.
I mounted the painted assembly on a board I painted reddish pink. To give it some character, I covered the painted board with an iridescent coat. The entire assembly was glued to the board and ready for framing.

This is so awesome...I have so many keys! I started making "key trees" and everyone seems to love them! I'm gonna try the butterfly out tonight! Thank you for the idea! Here's one of my trees in case anyone is interested..
