Rustic State Map Love

Do you love your state? Make this state map art to show your love for your state or it also makes a perfect gift for someone who is moving away!
I started by taking apart this old fence gate, sanded the wood down, and cut all the boards in half with a table saw.
Using a printed outline of my state, Oregon, I cut out the shape and taped it upside down to my boards.
I then pinned two smaller boards to it all to keep it together and traced the state outline using a sharpie.
Next, I cut out the state using a band saw.
After my state was cut out I sanded the edges down using 180 grit sandpaper.
Using my wood burning pen, I burned "I {heart}" directly into the wood for a fun affect!
Lastly, I stained the whole thing using a dark wood stain, attached picture hanging wire to the back, and we're done!
A gorgeous state map wall art to show your love for your state. I love how it turned out and reminds us of our roots.
