Any display ideas for a shot glass collection?

I have a shot glass collection of 80+. Any ideas how to creatively display them? I am going to try an old letterpress tray & misc. wooden boxes, but would like some alternative ideas. Thanks in advance!
The 'before' project. Looking for alternative ideas.

Depending on your equipment/tools and skill level, was thinki' maybe trace and cut out a large shot glass shape from plywood, paint it black or whatever you like and loop wire thru holes piloted in through the back to display each one. Does that make sense?

@SindyBaron A little over my skill level, but it's definitely an option! Thanks, SindyBaron!

That is a lot of glasses to display. I would check pinterest for ideas. It is a great web site for ideas.

A narrow plate rail around a dining room or family room gives you more than enough space for your whole collection. And room for more! You can display your favorites in the letterpress box.

    Perhaps a lighted curio cabinet?

@Ruslzplace Have a curio cabinet (not lighted) but not wild about that idea. I have a toddler :)

We used a great find, an apothecary cabinet that opens (hinged) so it can stand open and add to the room, or remain closed. Of course, the glasses were all roughly the same size and shape...my husband enjoys this idea, and I added my collection of cordials...it is a fun way to stroll down memory lane...from vacations, and antiquing adventures!

Well then, I would say to mount shelves about 6'high on your walls in a given room, you can do this with 'hidden support' type shelves, using smoked glass for the shelves, and hidden lighting.. I use LED type, but there are others, if you do your research.. Good luck...R

My brother-in-law made my husband 2 very nice cabinets out of black formica. He put a mirror inside the back wall of the second on he made and glass for the fronts. He used a piano hinge on the doors. He made the sections sized to fit both the regular sized shot glasses and some larger to fit the slammer glasses. They hang in our game room and are very attractive. Of course, my brother-in-law is very talented and also used to building cabinets, tables, etc. with formica.

I have over 500 shot glasses...most of them are displayed by using old pepsi/coke crates. They are perfect for regular size shot glasses. Also printer's drawers...I would use the one pictured but would display it landscape...the tall glasses should fit.

@Rhonda Smith-Payne Oh My Gosh! I had a great aunt that had probably that many at one time too. 500+ is Awesome! Good point on the landscape... I hadn't figured out HOW I was going to position it ;)

I had the very same question! Does anyone know where I could find a piece like the one in the photo?

@Amy J Bray Amy,ebay almost always has these for sale...different configurations and sizes. The only other place I have found them for a reasonable price is an old junk store. I do mean junk...not the little antique shops...but JUNK stores.
