#DIY Vintage Wall Art for Less Than $10

Do you struggle with deciding on wall decor or hesitate to decorate your walls because of the cost of large wall art? Well I've got a great project for you today that anyone can make!
today I wanted to share a quick project I just finished up – some DIY wall art I made for about $7! I love vintage-y prints and I have found an awesome and inexpensive source for creating large vintage wall art for your home!
This vintage vegetable poster is actually a sheet of gift wrap you can buy on amazon for about $5. There are a lot of different styles, but most have the same vintage feel and a great texture to the paper. To see some other of my favorite styles and get the links, click over to my blog post.
Once you’ve chosen your poster, all you need is a 2″ wide hobby board cut to the width of the poster, wood stain of your choice (I used this stain), thumb tacks, and jute twine. I spent about $7 on all the supplies.

Stain the hobby boards and allow them to dry. When the boards are ready, lay them out on top of the poster. Initially I tacked the poster on top of the wood, but I didn’t like the way it looked, so I ended up pushing the pins through the wood first, and then into the paper below. I used a dab of hot glue between the paper and the wood on the back to secure it.

Next, attach the jute twine on the top of the back using thumb tacks and secure with hot glue.
Hang and enjoy!

I love my vintage vegetable wall art! I am going to place it in the dining room when it’s all painted, but for now it has a home in our entryway nook. I also am thinking of a cushy armchair and round side table in this space, so I’m on the lookout for some great deals.
