Ikea Hack: Turn Spice Racks and a Large Frame Into Hanging Storage

I have a tiny kitchen and I needed to figure out a way to maximize storage. So what do the pro's tell you to do? GO UP and use your walls to create more storage. I was browsing one of my favorite stores one day and I got this brilliant idea on how to help me store my spices in a better way.
I gathered six spice racks from Ikea, a frame and a board cut to fit the frame.I stained the board, popped it into the frame, and attached the spice racks.
All my spices fit nicely onto the shelves, and when I am cooking I can look at what I have very easily. It saves me a good amount of space in my cabinets too. I am very happy with the end result!!

Great idea! Your idea reminded me of something I made years ago. I saw an article in a magazine called "twice framed!" I did mine on my kitchen wall as well, but I used artwork of watering cans and bird houses. I also added some small shelves to hold some kitchen items like a whisk, spatula and other baking tools all sitting inside a small metal watering can. It kind of looked like 3D wall art and I got loads of cocomplements on it. Thanks for bringing back that memory.

I have to commend you for creating such a clever storage space in such a unique creative way. I can see so many storage possibilities based on this idea for small cabins, craft rooms, pantries and garages to store small nuts and bolts and similar items. Love it!

Such a cute idea would really look great if one would use oak and stain it with fruitwood stain
