Ugly plastic jars

Barb
by Barb
I would like to try making some plastic jars more decorative. I would like to make them look like they were old clay jars. Any ideas if clay, concrete, quickcrete or anything similar would stick and not chip? Also any other ideas would be helpful. I want to use them on my kitchen counter on a tray for a coffee bar.
I would have sent pics but I have no idea how to get them from my camera to my computer. I'm sure it's simple but I am clueless.

wish I could see the jars you mean.. How about just painting them? I painted an old bin to make it look like marble using a chalk paint and a sponge.. using 3 different colours, dark and two lighter shades, going on top once the base was dry. I also did a project with some gravel, spray paint on glass jar (which you can see in my profile), not sure whether they would be too heavy for plastic, but you can always try.. another idea could be using, yarn or rope and tie around the cups (use mod podge or pva to keep in in place) - totally not the clay effect, but another idea... for the clay effect, I would go with maybe covering the containers with tile adhesive and grout and once it is dry paint it over, it would give you a texture and it should not chip as long as it dries naturally and is not left in direct sunlight... Hope this helps a little and others come up with some better ideas.. x

@From Evija with Love Thanks Evija. I ended up buying glass containers because I think the paint will last longer if I use glass paint. Love your painting idea.

Put the San disc from the camera into the card reader or in the slot on the computer to get the pictures of the jars

@Mssmatch Thanks. I feel so dumb as I already knew that but forgot. Old is so fun.

You should have a USB cord that came with your camera. One end goes into the camera and the other into your computer's USB port. Your camera will ask you if you want to upload photos to the computer, etc. It is not hard, I am techno challenged by today's standards!

@C_ann_g Thanks. After you and Mssmatch both reminded me, I remembered how to do it. Thank for jogging my brain.
