Vintage Charm on a Chair

Hey everyone! (I am a new member here so I apologize if I mess up something.) I DIY'd this old chair (about 50 years old) that my grandad made.
Since this is his job I put his last name on the chair.
This is what the chair looked like before getting in my hands.
I didn't sand it. I put a few coats of vanilla and grey color with a cloth. I mixed the colors with plaster. I would love to paint with chalk paint but guess what! My country (Slovenia) does not have this kind of paint. Not even calcium carbonate which is supposed to be the best for homemade chalk paint. And shipping to Slovenia is pretty expensive!
I always forget to put on the most important thing...
I printed backwords my grandad's name, applied modpodge, waited a few hours and then rubbed the paper off. At the end I applied another coat of modpodge.
This is my first time applying the paint in this kind of way and I love it! It is not so professional like some from others, but it is a start! Thank you for stopping by! Greetings from the country that doesn't have chalk paint for furniture :D
