Outside and inside renovations

I am hiring some help to update the outside of my home but I would love some suggestions. I really am not fond of the brown trim and am getting a new roof. I would love black trim. Would that look good with the Tan siding? I could get a black roof too. I'm also getting rid of the bay and box windows so the trim on those pieces can be changed as well.Also getting new entry and screen doors. That flower box on the side is ready to fall apart. Just putting a slider in its place.Bay window will be a picture window and two sliders. Would love to have grids in these windows

In my opionion black is tom start against tan siding.You mentioned you will be getting a new roof.What color?

There are many roof options available.I would really suggest you look at color possibilities on the roof before deciding on trim.Brown is certainly not the only color available.If you do black it will stand out like a sore thumb. Remember the focus is not the roof.It is your home. Keep me posted.

White is very stark.I would go with maybe a taupe.Do you like those types of colors. There are alot of versions available. Personally its one of my favorites.Let me know what you think

When I had my siding changed to a sage-toned beige, I had the gutters and downspouts installed in the same colour as the siding. The contractor didn't want to do it, but relunctantly ''gave in''. I didn't want them to be the focal point. I have never regretted it. Now the focus is on the door and windows and not the aluminum gutters. The installer now recommends it to other clients. I couldn't paint my window trim (white) due to the warranty. IMO, if I had your house, I personally would paint out the gutters and downspouts to match the siding, and paint the trim around the windows a darker similar beige or taupe. I would also paint the front door red to coordinate with the brick.p.s. My original house colours were cream and chocolate brown--the downspouts looked like brown racing stripes.

I agree, matching the trim will make the house look larger. You could do the gutters and downspouts in a coordinating color but stay away from boxing the house in with dark trim.
