DIY Map Desk With Metallic Gold Paint

6 Hours

This look is surprisingly easy to do! I used frog tape, DIY chalk-type paint and gold metallic patina to transform this thrift store desk, the entire project came in under $50
I have a full video tutorial attached below along with the info provided here. DIY Paint will go on most surfaces without sanding or priming so I started by painting the entire desk with Apothecary, a beautiful pale green color.
I traced cut out shapes that can be printed from your computer, see my Map DIY pinterest board there are several different ways to do this.
Matallic patina is a sheer topcoat, so I used a gold color underneath first, called Sandy Blonde. Then I applied two coats of DIY metallic gold patina and outlined to cover my pencil marks with an oil based gold sharpie.
I love the final look! for more details visit Debi's Design Diary .
And don't forget the fun and quick video below to see the entire process
