Christmas tree and mantel garland and wreath

Should your mantel Christmas garland and wreath match your Christmas tree?

    Yes. If you match all it makes a much bolder statement...Or if you at least stay in the same colors...

    Do you have a theme for your xmas tree? You dont necessarily have to match.If there are certain colors you prefer use them on the mantel to make a statement.

    I would say not completely "matchy-matchy". But keep the same theme on both - if one is traditional the other should be of the same genre.

    I have never thought about them matching. My tree is decorated with vintage and homemade ornaments with white lights. I treat the mantel in a way of its own. I usually have a huge pine wreath with white lights and poinsettias as well as the garland. I also have a collection of Snowmen and have put them on the mantel then put small cardboard snowflakes all over the stone fireplace using straight pins wedged in between the stones. I also have a crocheted mantel scarf and will just put that on the mantel and put many different sizes of candlesticks on it.
