Woodbridge Environmental Tiptophouse.com on Feb 12, 2013Do what pros do. Depending upon the size of the area, rent a buffing polishing machine. A complete stripping of the floor to remove any waxy and dirt build up is your first order of business. Normally a Red pad under the machine and a strong detergent mix which can be purchased along with the rental will strip the floor clean. Then follow this by a white polish pad and a good coat of wax/sealer. This too can be purchased at the rental store with machine. You do not need a lot of the wax/sealer as a little goes a long way. To much you end up with swirl marks like you would see on the surface of a black car when its waxed. No machine, Then a strong mix of commercial type of detergent and elbow grease will clean the floor. Be sure to rinse a lot. Most of the dull finish is the result of dirt being ground into the surface of the floor. The trick is to remove as much as you can out of the scratches so the wax sealer coat will fill in those areas. What makes the surface shiny is how smooth it is. More scratches, more dull. So you need to clean those scratches well, fill with the wax sealer to create that smooth shiny surface the floor had when it was new.Helpful Reply

Kristin Topping on Aug 12, 2015As far as your question is concerned, in my opinion, durabilityof any flooring whether wood, laminate or granite largely depends on intensity of foot traffic, as well as adherence to manufacturer recommendations in regards to care and maintenance of the floor. If you have any queries about caring for your California hardwood flooring or laminate flooring, contact a local commercial flooring company. They can provide professional advice to ensure that your floors remain in top condition for years to come.Helpful Reply
