$3 DIY Hanging Wall Map

Create this hanging wall map with a Dollar Store map and strips of wood. Super simple and better yet...super inexpensive.
Begin with the US State map from the Dollar Store.
You will need two strips of wood, eye hooks and rope to create this half frame.
Cut the strips of wood to be an inch wider on each side than the map. I had my wood cut right at Home Depot. Stain the wood using a rag or soft brush.
Once the stain in dry add the eye hooks an inch from the end of the board.
Now turn the map over and staple to strips of wood to the map using a regular stapler.
Thread your rope through the eye hooks and tie a secure knot. I used a bow line knot.
I also aded two wooden beads to each end of the rope right above the knot.
Now it is ready for hanging. I made this for my school room; perfect visual for students needing to learn the location of all the United States.

This is such a great idea! Better than using tacks to hang up & keeps map from ripping😊going to try this soon!
