I need help figuring out how to decorate my living room walls? I have a sofa table behind my couch, it's a sectional and the only place it works in my living room. One wall has a collage on it, the TV wall has a door frame with pictures on it with sconces on each side one wall has a mirror and table and the other is a window with curtains with wall space on both sides. HELP, it sounds like a mess :/

Really to dark to tell anything. Maybe take more photos with loads of light and different angles.

You don't have a mirror, clock, or plants. Sounds like, but I can't tell from the picture.

Figure out what you want the focus to be, then go to Pinterest and search wall decorating, etc. You might get ideas you hadn't thought of.

I wrote "gallery walls" on the search box above. There are several projects to decorate blank walls. One of them may inspire you.

Using graph paper lay out your room. Use cutouts to represent the furniture. This saves a lot of work moving the furniture around. You can also use craft paper to represent pictures to tape to the wall to see what fits where. Then place the sectional on whatever two walls it fits on. Then start placing the other pieces as best you can. Does your sectional fit snug in a corner? Maybe the floor lMp in the cor to. Rou can mount a flat screen tv to a wall and add the large frame arround it and continue your picture collage around it. Or use the large picture frame above the sofa and add smaller framed pictures inside it.

Without photos of the rest of the room and from your description, I think "less is more" would be your best approach. Seems as though you have a lot of "stuff," which could translate into a cluttered look. I'm not trying to be critical, just offering an observation based on years of professional decorating experience. My best advice would be to remove EVERYTHING from all walls and tables. Start with a blank canvas. Set aside only those things you would likely save in the case of a fire. Put everything else out of sight. In another room, in the attic/basement, in storage. Now... Look at everything you selected to keep with a "new" set of eyes. Display items in unusual ways or in a manner not necessarily intended. For example, I used a mini wrought iron gazing ball stand to hold a floral arrangement for a client. No one would guess the stand was meant for outdoors. From your photo, the portion of the room you show seems dark, in spite of the lamp in the corner. However, it gives more of a blast of light rather than a glow, which would be a more desirable effect. Play around with things, but a more light and color would make quite a difference. Before going out to purchase anything, "shop" your house and see what unexpected goodies you can repurpose/relocate to your living room.

Ok, Here's my 2 cents...Place the sofa table & sectional up against the wall. This will open up the room. Place lamps back on the table, but take the plastic off the shades. Since you have the 2 lamps move the floor lamp to the other side of the room, or another part of the apt/house I would take the gold ornate frame, place a mirror in it & hang it horizontally centered on the wall. This will open up the room as well. Then take all of the framed photos & the wanted picture place them on either side of the mirror. Don't do a straight vertical down the wall break it up in clusters. Move the now empty bookshelf to another part to the apt/house. Move the ladder w/ quilts to that spot. Hope this helps.

I agree a lot w/Swan Road Designs, however I would paint the walls. Decorating w/3 main colors. The first two are more prominent w/ the third color is touches of color throughout the room, pillows, vase, etc. If unsure what colors look at a favorite picture to see what you want to pull out. Everything seems to be grouped together from the picture you show, so take as much out and sit on the couch and look at how you can do things different. Take risk painting the walls will lift the room less is more! Also put some plants in the room! Good luck!

More pics would be nice. Sounds like you have a lot going on in the room. Think you have to be careful about not getting a cluttery look. Can't tell from the pic how long or wide your sofa table is. Just me, but think your lamp shades are too bulky for a sofa table. I would keep this wall simple. Maybe add a mirror to the large frame and leave it at that.

I would move the sofa table back to the wall. Put large mirror or painting above it and decorate the table with mementoes or items to complement the room

Can you give dimensions of the room and maybe a few more pics that show other walls in the space? It doesn't sound like the room is very big so maybe you should pare down all your accessories and just choose a few beautiful things to display at one time. You can always rotate them out from time to time when you feel like a change.
