DIY Rustic Tea-Light Centerpiece

I've been wanting to create a rustic tea light candle holder for some time now and was instantly inspired when I saw one on the Crate and Barrel website. Of course I would have preferred to use salvaged wood but I didn't have anything that fit the dimensions I wanted {35 inches long}, so instead I hit up the local hardware store and picked up a 4x4x8 board along with a new forstner bit. Even after this project, I now have enough wood left over for future projects, or I could even make a few more of these as gifts.
Although I set this up on our dining table, it would be a great addition to a deck or patio, especially if you want to throw some citronella candles in there.
This project was super easy and didn't require much time to make either. In fact, waiting for the sealer to dry is what took the longest. Not too shabby if you ask me. You can view the full tutorial over on my blog.

I picked up a 4 x 4 x 8 untreated wood at the hardware store.
The wood was then lightly sanded, and measured and marked where the tea light candles would go. We then used a forstner bit to create the holes. Easy peasy!
Afterwards I just went over the entire piece with some tung oil which enriched the color and also sealed the wood.
