DIY Lined Drop Cloth Curtains - Modified for Large Windows

Please visit my blog post for a complete tutorial. I can't tell you how much I appreciate you clicking through to the original source. Thank you! http://www.refreshliving.us/2015/08/diy-drop-cloth-curtains.html
I'm on a mission to decorate our cottage on the cheap (cheap, cheap). Our front playroom/bedroom/living room has three walls of windows, which is a tad bit bright for our poor visitors that stay in the that room. I put off making curtains until we painted, but once that was done, I knew it was time to figure out how to sew curtains.

Using drop cloths for curtains is nothing new, but at less than $15 for a 9' x 12' drop cloth, it was the best option for covering our massive 13' wide window.
Head on over to the blog for the link to the full tutorial I used, as well as all the specific adjustments I made to save money and create extra large panels. I also have a post on how I used drop cloths to reupholster my couch!

I made one years ago but have lost the pattern and want to make another, if you could send me the information I would be very grateful. I can be reached @ cafferina@hotmail.com Again thank you Charlene Bayless

Coming from another galaxy where drop cloths were used to catch paint spills, I have questions. Do they need to be lined to make them dark out curtains? Do they get washed/how(cold, hang to dry)? Can any type rod be used or do they need something heavy? I've put off thinking about bedroom curtains and now my shades are falling apart. So weird, I found your site while reading about starting tomatoes. I'll let you know how my curtains turn out!!
