Easy
Planning a playroom? Here are some things that make a playroom both fun and functional.
Use open and closed storage to make things easy for kids to reach but to also help encourage them to put things where they belong.
Pottery Barn
Add a space for quiet reading. Make it comfortable with cozy seating, pillows, and other soft spaces to encourage reading and down time.
Project Nursery
Add in an arts and crafts area with a child size table and chairs.
Tinkerlab
If you've got an art table, you're going to want a spot to display those masterpieces.
Add some fun hideaways with a fort, tent, or teepee.
Amazon.com
Have fun with color. Polka dot ceilings? Why not?
Simply Sadie Jane
Or how about a mural?
Poppytalk
You'll need plenty of child sized seating. Benches are great for sitting but also come with added storage.
Home My Design
Make sure there's enough space to spread out and play on the floor. We added in this cute woodland themed rug from Ikea.
24 Cottonwood Lane
Not everyone is going to agree on this, but we did add a small TV/DVD player. Because no one wants to watch Bubble Guppies all day long. Except the kids.
I Heart Organizing
Don't forget the make believe areas and props.
