DIY Lord of the Rings Wood Rack

I've been a huge Tolkien fan since I was a teenager. This month celebrates Hobbit Day and Tolkien Week so we decided to do a series of posts on that topic. The first one is a LOTR wood rack which is fairly simple to make. You can grab the free patterns on my site at the link on the bottom of this post.
SUPPLIES

1x6 piece of wood. *cut to 18 long)

One 1/4 round dowel cut into seven 2 sections.

Wood glue

7 wood plug buttons approx. 3/8 (optional)

Free pattern download ( http://bit.ly/lotrwoodrack )

X-acto knife (or Silhouette machine)

Drill. For 1/4 dowel pieces we used a 1/4 bit which made a nice snug fit.

Paint

Gloss coating. I used Mod Podge
Paint the board following the simple pattern.
The graphic of the LOTR party is free on our site. You can print and cut it out carefully with an X-acto knife. (For those who might have a Silhouette brand cutting machine there's a free file for that too.)
Glue your image onto your painted board then coat with a gloss such as Mod Podge.
Drill your holes for your pegs. The pattern gives the exact placement.
Glue in your pegs. You can glue on wood plug buttons for a nicer look.
Paint your pegs and gloss them. Add hangers on the back and you're done!
