Stenciled Chair Seats

There was nothing wrong with my kitchen chairs, but after six years of use, they were getting pretty worn. Many of them had paint missing from the seats from use of a portable child booster seat. (Kids. They ruin everything. (JUST KIDDING!)) Using paint and a stencil, I freshened the chairs up and gave them an awesome new look! makeover
I unscrewed the seats from the chairs and lightly sanded them. Then I painted them with two coats of chalk paint.
After that, I used a craft stencil to add interest to my seats. I used two different kinds of paint for this - acrylic paint and latex paint. One definitely worked better than the other. For more details on that, please see my blog post at the link below.
I sealed the seats with polyurethane and reattached them to the chairs, which I had thoroughly cleaned with my trusty Magic Eraser. I love that thing!
They look AWESOME in my kitchen! And I love that stenciling just the seats eliminated the need for me to repaint them in their entirety.
The company that makes the stencil I used has teamed up with me to GIVE AWAY A FREE STENCIL! The giveaway runs until 9/8/15, so if you'd like to enter, please pay me a visit! You'll also find a complete supply list on my blog. Thank you!
