Easy Concrete Candle Holder

I was messing around and decided to give the whole concrete bowl thing a try. I had a big candle, you know the ones that come encompassed in glass. And, well, I figured why not make a concrete bowl for holding the candle? I've mostly seen concrete bowls being used for plants, one time a fire pit, so why not use it to hold a candle? It would look great on the patio table on a breeze-free night!
With that being said, I grabbed a bag of quick setting concrete mix, a couple bowls and got down to business.
I mixed the concrete, poured it into one bowl, used my orbital sander to give it a good virbate -- you know to get the air bubbles out...
A quick coat of paint, a stencil, and voila! A concrete bowl, perfect for holding a candle - easy peasy!
This is a great, simple project. After trying it out, I've come up with a whole bunch more uses for concrete bowls - and concrete forming! You can easily get creative with concrete bowl making. The designs, shapes and uses are endless!
