Does anyone have any suggestions to discourage birds from nesting in vining rosebush. The are creating a mess on my porch and sidewalk with their droppings.

  • few rubber snakes. Move them around every few days. Will be gone soon.

Do you have a way to hang some CDs near these roses? These will spin and sparkle erratically in the sunlight, confusing and upsetting birds.

I had to giggle Woodbridge because there is NO WAY I am going to touch even a rubber snake! Last year I worked so hard on my neon colored porch only to have an ornery mamma bird build a nest in a repainted bird house. She was so bad we did not even get to use our porch before it got too hot in Atlanta. I just left it and cleaned up when she and family moved on. We just sort of work around the birds! One bird destroyed one of my hanging baskets (they mess up the same one every year and don't touch the second one) but she could not get to the bottom to nest. I think this year I am going to hang a pretty basket and one with just dirt and some straw for the birds and see what happens. If we get squatters, I will post.
