Bleach!....Be sure that the area is ventilated. Let the bleach sit for a little while. Keep the bleach off any fixtures, it is corrosive. Rinse when done. It may take a little elbow grease for the bad areas.
  • Hello Earlyn, One of the best ways I have found is to use an oxygen bleach solution. 1. Pour about 1 cup of the oxygen bleach into a five gallon bucket filled with water. Stir the water, be careful not to spill it all over something the bleach could negatively affect. 2. Put some of the water/bleach blend into a clean spray bottle, liberally spray on the surfaces to be cleaned. 3. Wait about 25-30 minutes before scrubbing the area with a soft bristled brush. An old toothbrush can help get into those hard to reach areas. If the area is extremely stained, wait one hour before scrubbing. 4. Keep scrubbing until the area is cleaned. 5. When the area is cleaned to your satisfaction, wipe the area down with a wet cloth. It might take more than one bleach/water mixture application and scrubbing to get the area clean. If you have tile, then sealing your tile/grout will help prevent future mold and stains. I have used a grout sealer brand named "Tile Lab" and never had a problem with it. Make sure that the type of sealer you are using is rated for the type of tile surface you have. Also, it might be a good idea to either replace or touch-up the caulking around the shower with a "tub and tile" type caulking.
