1 Material
I found this trunk at a local thrift store, needed love AND new legs!
As purchased
I cleaned the piece with alcohol, just by wiping it down.
Trunk opens - great for storage.
The front right leg was pretty bad so I cut them off.
I attached the new legs ( saved from a prior project - you never know when things may come in handy )
I attached the new legs.
Fabrics I chose to make the "clothing "
Measured, cut the fabric, machine sewn.
Time to load it with a lot of my craft materials 😉
Finally added the bling trim!
Suggested materials:
  • Paint for legs, fabric, staple gun and staples.

I have a real old trunk that belonged to my grandmother. What would u use to line it? I don't want burlap. Want something "fussy", pretty? Fabric or wallpaper? Or what?

It's cute the way you did it. The truck looked like it was homemade. Covering it gave it style. Did you paint inside?
  • I will definitely try. I had an old steamer trunk that belonged to my mother in laws friend. She gave it me and I brought it home and antiqued it in red with a blue glaze. That was over 40 years ago and it was old them. Lined it with fabric. My daughter took possession of it about 12 years ago and uses it in my granddaughters room to store clothes and such. I am now thinking of adding casters to it for easier mobility. Thank you for the inspiration.
