I just released this tutorial on how to make a pallet table from an old pallet.
Using pallets to create furniture and/or storage are great ways to recycle. They can look classy and elegant, or rustic and refined, and they provide incredibly cheap ways to furnish a home, too!
They are not that difficult to do, however there are some consideration when choosing the perfect pallet - and safety concerns as well. You need to pick your pallets carefully. Not every pallet should be used in this fashion. (I list all of the concerns in the original post found on my blog, and I highly recommend that you thoroughly understand the safety issues before using an old pallet.).
Prep the piece well. Then, once you get everything finished, you can then primer and paint the pallet table.
And there are lots of ways to finish a pallet table. Here is a table finished with a weathered gray look. (one of my favorites). I have a few projects on my blog that demonstrates how to get a weathered look. (you can just follow the links that are within this original post on my blog to see how).
Assuming the pallet is free, it should only cost around $12 to make one these. (the price of the casters). I typically have lots of leftover paints and stains at my disposal, and I just use whatever I have available for my finishes.
This tutorial can be seen in it's entirety on my blog. Just click the link. Happy DIYing!
