What kind of flooring can I use in my basement

I have a concrete floor in my basement. From time to time we do get water down there. What kind of flooring can I use there that won't be destroyed by the water?

three is a paint called sealkrete ( not sure on spelling) but you can get plain color or the kind with flecks in it

I painted my basement floor. Paint is a flooring paint specially made to go on concrete. Bought it at a big box store so it wasn't expensive. Read somewhere that if you want your floor to disappear, paint it a color to match your walls. Did this. Love it!Did it about 5 years ago. Has held up well.

I've got this stuff got from Home Depot. It is a type of vinyl tile but looks just like wood. Water doesn't hurt it. Just pull up dry and can put right back down. The pieces are about 3 foot long and have stickey stuff on both sides. You can cut with knife or scissors lay down I didn't put under layment under either of mine either.It has held up and has a 25 year warranty. This is the second house I've used in the garage. Love it

they make laminate and vinyl strips that can go over concrete- IF it is level. Otherwise, I would paint. Our basement floor int he unfinished part was painted over 20 years ago and is holding up very well.

Why do you get water there? I think I would recommend fixing that before putting down ANY kind of flooring. Seems to me you might be asking for mold/mildew issues under any flooring. I'm no contractor...just sayin'

There are vinyl clic floors, or vinyl loose lay planks. The loose lay can be removed and washed more easily if you get flooding. As @Rosanne said, your floor has to be quite level, unless you get the really flexible kind...the floor dealers can help you with that. Dricore is only good for damp, if you get any more water than that, it will wick it. Floors that get wet frequently don't always hold up well to painted surfaces...my mother and a couple of friends, had to keep fixing theirs...I personally wouldn't risk it. @Lucy is right though about trying to prevent the water in the first place. I am currently looking at the vinyl loose lay planks. I have found some that scratch easily. I was checking out a sample at Costco, and it seemed more scratch resistant, but I still haven't decided yet.

Would ceramic title be better than carpet? We have cold winters and carpet is much warmer. this property is on a lake. Any suggestions
