How can I create a bedroom/family room with a full bath in basement on a $500 budget.

Do you have plumbing in your basement for a full bath? If not, I doubt you can install a full bath and create a bedroom/family room for $500.00. If the plumbing is already there you would have to do some very creative shopping. Check out places like Habitat for Humanity, Craigslist, garage sales, clearance sales for things you might need to create the space you want.
