How can I build my own desk?

    Not quite nothing, but pretty in expensive. concrete blocks stacked for legs, plywood for the top. done

    You find something like 2 filing cabinets & a 4 by 8 piece of wood. Sand it. paint it. And put it on top of the filing cabinets

    File cabinets make a good base. Try thrift shops. Stores also sell laminated countertops that would make a good top. You could find an inexpensive piece at ReStore.

    You cut wood and hobble it together. You can put an old door on cinder blocks in a pinch.

    lay an old luan door across a couple of saw horses or concrete blocks... easy to find old free doors as you don't need 'pretty' and these are often replaced... check out your local 'ReStore Habitat for Humanity' store or Craigslist. Daughter is architect and this is what she is still using 15 years after graduating

    You could also buy some inexpensive saw horse legs, like at Harbor Freight and use a luann door over them, the legs are a great asset to anyone who wants to do home projects or have yard sales.
