How to turn a wicker lined laundry basket into a end table?

I found this laundry basket in a goodwill at a great price and in good codition. Lined too. So I was thinking of some how making it into a bedside table. Could also use for storage because it has an attached lid. It's plain light wicker. Not painted. Please any ideas? Thanks!

If you get a piece of glass cut to fit the top it would easily transform that into a lovely night table.

You could also cut pallets nail them together and cut a top out. If you did paint it I would use a spray paint. You could also just paint the top so you can use it for storage also.
