I have 2 of those, first one has a oak top, another one pine. We have a person in area that puts old enamel tops on them. Good luck on yours!

You can use a piece of plywood and tile the top of it, or if you are artistic do a mosaic pattern. You can buy nice wood trim to put around the edges. As for the drawer, you can buy a under counter drawer kit a Home Depot with all the hardware. Easy to mount. I'd paint it or stain it to match either tile or wood trim. The tile would be different than most that I've seen and give a nice pop of color.

We have a couple of these. The first one we painted flat black and had the repair shop for the Danish furniture store cut us a top ($20 back when you could get this sort of thing) and we use it for a tV stand with our Danish Modern platform bedroom furniture. The second one is shinny red with a scrap piece of granite from a neighbor on top of a piece of plywood. It sits behind my swing on the front porch. I had half a dozen at one time and gave them away to sisters and friends!
