Turn old sofa into a love seat?

I have an old sofa that is sagging in the middle and is really to large for my room. I want to cut the middle part out, reinforce it and turn it into a love seat. Any suggestions?

You'll really have to take it apart first to see how it's made. I don't see any reason why you can't just shorten the lengthwise rails underneath.

I did this many years ago. As long as the frame is reinforced in the middle, you will have no problem. Have fun, and show us before and after pictures!
