How can I upcycle a 12-foot church pew into a breakfast nook?

I don't have a picture, but I acquired (free!) a 12-foot church pew. It's been sitting on my covered front porch for about two years and needs to be completely refinished. It is oak plywood with solid oak trim. I really want to make it into a kitchen breakfast nook, approximately 7 x 5, but don't know how to do it, or if I even have the right tools. I have a circular saw and a reciprocating saw, an electric drill/screwdriver, and relatively meager woodworking skills. Lots of pallets if needed for extra braces and a few 4 foot 4 x 4's. Any ideas?
