Vintage Suitcase Makeover

If you are a thrift store junkie (like me), you probably see lots of ugly, vintage suitcases. I bought 2 and gave the first one a makeover a while ago, but finally got around to working on the second one. It was so fun and easy turning this ugly thrift store find into custom luggage that I'm proud to show off. I love these old suitcases because you don't have to use them for traveling... they are also great for home storage and fun décor pieces. You can customize your suitcase to match any home décor and this would also be a great diy to give a gift in...

This is what my suitcase looked like before I started this project. Ugly right?

I used Rust-Oleum's Spring Green Gloss spray paint on the suitcase.

I covered the entire suitcase including the handle and hardware. You can tape these areas if you don't want them painted.

When the spray paint was completely dry, I used craft paint to decorate the suitcase.

Make sure you let the paint completely dry in between colors when painting your design. When the paint is completely dry, spray with a clear sealer.

The inside was in good condition, but definitely needed a coat of paint. I decided to use coral and pink craft paint.

I added some cute tassels to this suitcase and it's now ready to be used... What do you guys think? Love it as much as I do?
