I walked through the recycle yard and kept looking at these two 60's era hoods. I love all things old and I hated the bench we had out in front. I kept thinking I could make the hoods work as a bench...
We did not care for the front porch bench we had but the dog loved it!
I started by researching if this had been done before. I then went to the scrap yard looking for the materials.
I traced the shape of the hoods against each other and carefully started cutting them apart with my angle grinder.
I found the leaf springs out of an early 40's car that were the perfect dimensions. Minor mods and it was ready to rock!
It turned out really cool. I initially wanted to paint and distress the new paint but my wife liked the existing colors too much to change...

OMG! That is perfect! Great colors. Do you have any idea how much that would cost in a store?! My daughter and her ex used to restore old 1950s cars. She would love this. Let me know if you start itching to make another one. Preferably pink and black! Hint, hint!
what is the soundtrack here? Who is singing? I would like to buy the album.
Incredible! Does the dog still love it?
