We purchased this a 1905 Boston Victorian which had been converted to a duplex. After living there less than 2 months we realized we had bought our very own money pit and quickly began to think it was the biggest mistake we had ever made. Our guest bathroom was in desperate need of and update, since if you didn't know better you would think you were standing in a 1988 gas station bathroom, not a 1905 Victorian. The main problem was fleshy pink tiles which featured flowers which were more appropriate for a Chinese restaurant menu along with outdated and damaged oak cabinetry and fixtures. Professional tile reglazing, all new cabinetry, fixtures, lighting, accessories and paint resulted in a much improved space, on a budget of less than $1000. The only part of this bathroom that remained untouched were the tub, flooring and toilet. It was like a breath of fresh air in a house that was so full of problems.. And although it was the perfect solution to our 'money pit' it was one step forward in curing our buyer's remorse.
