Have you ever tried to update a space on a serious budget? Sometimes, I think we forget how much of a difference paint, a few decor changes and DIY projects can impact a space. The power of paint should never be underestimated in my opinion! You have GOT to see this before/after makeover all for under $87 including the details on the DIY brass and black light!
BEFORE :

I had updated this space 4 years ago but the color/vibe of the space no longer matched my style. The yellow seriously drove me NUTS. I understand that some people would really like the before but it constantly grated on me.
I painted the walls Simply White by Valspar. The bathroom vanity got painted my favorite dark color, Cracked Pepper by Behr. I found some inexpensive knobs on Amazon. All three of those changes alone helped the space out drastically.
Next, I knew I needed to tackle the old light that we had. My budget was very small for a light so I decided to DIY one! I LOVE how it turned out. Get the tutorial for the light fixture on my blog.

I shopped my house for a few simple decor pieces. The plant stand was a vintage find years ago and it's one of my favorites. The "planter" is actually a candleholder from Target. I've found that you can use lots of different vessels as "planters" if you keep an open mind while you are shopping.

The towel was found at Hobby Lobby for around $3! Can't beat that price for a cute, turkish looking towel.
I had the rug in my stash so I was able to save money there too. I would have loved to replace the mirror with an oversized round brass mirror but I was participating in a room makeover for under $100 and I couldn't find one for dirt cheap. Maybe eventually, I'll replace the mirror but for now... I'm really enjoying how far the space has come.

You can see a reflection of our master bedroom in the mirror (see our master bedroom reveal here if you are interested). The goal of the mini-makeover was to freshen up the space so that is was more in line with the bedroom decor. I think I totally did that and the view that I now see makes me MUCH happier than the previous view.

So, how do you think I did? For $87, do you think I got my money's worth on this makeover?

I love it. So much better than white. Too much white these days. I painted my bathroom cabinet grey also. LOVE it. I picked up a mirror but it had a brown frame. My sister suggested I use mirror paint on it. Okay, it doesn't come out like a mirror but it does give a nice metallic look that goes really well with grey.
