Farmhouse Style Master Bathroom Makeover

After adding on a 2nd bathroom to our home in 2008, I was kind of at a loss for which direction I wanted to go with the decor. Sure, I hung a shower curtain & brought in some wall decor, but I was never truly happy with the space. Some time late last fall/early spring, I was tired of not loving my bathroom. I really wanted to brighten up the space! I knew I wanted a lighter colored shower curtain, and also knew that I wanted to go more light gray with the paint color. The problem was the floor. Trying to find a shower curtain that would allow me to go the direction I wanted to with the wall color, but also tie in the floor color wasn’t easy. In the beginning, I was even contemplating new tile, but not wanting to deal with the expense nor the mess, I kept looking for something that would work.
Here is a look at the "before" shots.
Another view of the toilet & shower.
And another look at the after! :)
On a random trip to TJ Maxx, when I wasn’t looking for bathroom decor, I found the curtain you see above. It had different shades of gray, blue, and just enough tan to tie into the floor. It was just what I was looking for and just the inspiration I needed to start my bathroom makeover!
The area around the toilet filled with a couple different furniture pieces I found at Hobby Lobby (ladder shelf) and again, TJ Maxx (blue storage cabinet).
Another easy way to brighten a space? Adding some crisp, white linens! I love the simplicity of white towels!
Overall, I'm loving how this room turned out! After 8 years of having this space, I'm finally LOVING my bathroom!
