You've got to see this kids bathroom plus laundry room idea. It is a practical and clever home design project. Remodeling an existing bathroom this way is perfect for busy families.
After being in out house for 10 years, we knew that the time had come for our kid's bathroom to get a face lift! Since they weren't using the bathtub anymore, and we were needing to relocate the laundry room, we thought it was the perfect idea to move the laundry into the kids bathroom.

The washing machine and dryer fit perfectly in the space where the tub used to be. This also allowed for space above the machine for more storage. The rest of the bathroom layout remained pretty much the same. In fact we even kept the long vanity style counter. But instead of a place to sit, we added a rolling laundry sorter that fits perfectly under counter. (yes they actually use it!)
To cut down on some costs we did all of the demo work ourselves and repurposed items. For instance, this in wall medicine cabinet looks brand new with a fresh coat of paint.

Overall we LOVE the finished product. This room does the work of two! And it's perfect for a busy family. To see more details and pictures of the finished project be sure to visit my blog post on the entire project. (and you may notice the decorative silhouettes of my kiddos on the wall, that project can be found right here on my Hometalk projects page. So check those out too, Including a Hometalk LIVE!)
