New Bathroom Slate Tile

We bought this tile on a clearance sale. After it sat around for about a year we finally got around to installing it. Oh, and it turned out that every piece was 1/8 out of square in the 12 inches. And as with most slate tile the thickness varied by almost a 1/4 inch from the thickest to the thinnest pieces. But I tackled it, and think it looks pretty good. Haven't grouted it yet, but will be doing that soon!

I used these tiles as a garden path. They worked great. Also covered my formica kitchen counter with them, I reseal every 6 months or so as seal wears off of porous slate for some reason. I combined it with 4" square slates for the border tile and gloss black for capping the counter edges. Its held up 12 years but I am getting tired of it now and may cover over in concrete when I get up the nerve.

We used these tiles for counter tops in kitchen and one of the bath rooms. We grouted and then covered with Spar Poly for boats to water proof with shinny hard surface. Everyone wants to know how we did it.. Turned out great.
