How can I get my household item pantry more organized?

While this photo was taken of my pantry, the same concept of organization may work for your closets. All items were purchased at Walmart. The wire shelf was less than $10 and the baskets were less than $3 depending on the size.

Try looking at your local dollar tree store. They have tons of baskets, etc. you could use.

Cookie sheets and baskets! Very similar to Enednyg's set up. Try and find cookie sheets that fit your cabinets as best as you can. Organize your stuff in baskets on the trays. The trays act as "drawers" for when you need items in the back. Pull the tray out, grab the basket . . . Easy!

I like baskets that I can see in. Then I group same like items in baskets.

I also have deep cabinets under the kitchen counter and don't like having to get on my knees to reach in the back. I finally went to a $ store and bought plastic baskets I can just pull out, putting the things I hardly ever use in the back. For heavier items, like pots and pans, a home improvement store sells mtal mesh baskets that roll out on a track you can install with a screw driver. Cost is minimal and worth it.

I too use baskets. It is important to put like items together (1 for first aid, 1 with deodorants, 1 with nail items, etc), and to use baskets or bins with straight sides (not tapered) to maximize your space. I also put 5, 1 x2" moulding strips on my hollow door (not necessary if the door is solid wood), and screwed metal rectangular baskets into them, similar to the pic below, but longer. I put tweezers, make up, perfume, face/ hand creams, extra dental items, etc. that I need to grab quickly. After that, I stopped buying too many repeat items. I try to keep only 1 extra deodorant etc. I also try to finish one item before opening a new one.

Get baskets, bins, or what they call them now, and set them on the shelving instead of all the bottles. All the bottles etc. go in the bins to set on the shelves.

I would first check the dates of the suntan lotions and group things together by lotions, medical,oral and nail polish, cootin balls and remover together etc and use baskets from the dollar tree or small boxes that you can put contract paper on for a decorative look. Things you use rarely keep higher up and
