I would add a spray hose to the existing faucet. You could add a plastic shower under your existing curtain too. Best, Rosie
Call a plumber and have them upgrade the plumbing. What type of tub surround do you have now?
It will depend on your existing tub and plumbing situation but it isn't terribly difficult. You will tap into the water supply to install new plumbing as well as the shower head. The wall will have to be cut into and repaired.
If you could post pictures of what you have now, you can get some very good advice.
What is on the walls surrounding your tub now, and what is the height? If it is a material that is not water proof, some upgrading will need to be done first before you use the shower. Otherwise, it will be an invitation for big problems with mildew, wet walls, rotting, etc.
