Can vanity be removed from bathroom after 12 years an pedestal sink put in? Can vanity be reused after removal?

3po3 on Apr 10, 2012Yes and yes. I don't see why not. Of course, it might take some drywall work behind the pedestal sink. And be sure to carefully cut away any adhesive on the vanity and/or countertop to keep it from breaking, so you can reuse it.Helpful Reply

HandyANDY - Handyman & All Repairs, LLC on Apr 12, 2012Absolutely...you might have some cuts through the tile for plumbing....a great updated look is not so much a pedestal but a curved bombay style cabinet. I also saw an awesome 32" custom european style vanity at a thrift store with granite top for $275...it's off Shallowford Rd in Marietta....a steal of a dealHelpful Reply

KMS Woodworks on Apr 14, 2012One common problem when adding a pedestal sink to "Old" plumbing work that was originally set for a base cabinet is the supply lines can be too far apart to look good behind a pedestal base. If this is the case some minor drywall and plumbing work can get things looking good. Moving the waste line is sometimes a problem too as this tends to dictate the "placement" of the pedestal. I have seen any small base cabinets where the waste line is not in line with the center line.Helpful Reply

Eindy R on Apr 14, 2012The house had an old kind of sink and I had the vanity installed so the pipes and plumbing may well be all ok. the entire areas is tiled PINK of all things. House is older evan still has a green bathtub, I replaced the toilets with high ones a while ago. Should have gotten power flushes tho.Helpful Reply

KMS Woodworks on Apr 15, 2012Believe it or not there is a minor "cult community" of pink tile fans http://savethepinkbathrooms.com/2009/07/04/900-images-in-our-flickr-group/Helpful Reply
