Mirrors on the walls.
You may want to look at floating shelves that could attach to the side of the vanity if there is space. The other thought would be to put floating shelves or other shelves on walls that may be near by and use baskets not he shelves to hold items.
keep everything light and bright
Monochromatic color scheme. Walls, floors (or throw rugs) and curtains same color. Then just throw in an accent color in small doses. Towel racks on the back of the door. Cabinet to match the vanity. Both in a light color.
Another thought is to draw the eyes up...maybe with LED uplights and keep the color light. Any time of decor that is see-through to keep a feeling of airiness to the room.
Add some mirrors to a wall to give the effect of a larger room.
I painted my very small bathroom all white and it looks huge. Use an accent color sparingly to keep that large look.
As well as the great suggestions of the other posters, I would look to recess a medicine cabinet (they come with mirrors, too) and that way you have some storage. Small bathrooms have that problem. An paint a very light color.
Choose a paint color with cool tones & use the same paint on the ceiling as the walls, so you're not breaking up your visual line. This will make any space appear larger.
