How can I convert a bathtub bathroom into a walk in shower bathroom?

At our age (mid 80's) a bathtub isn't a friendly option. A walk in shower is much safer and more practical.
Lightly sand it and paint. Use contact paper or wallpaper. Sand and stain darker.

Hi ! While I was waiting to replace my vanity I needed to update it to hold me over . I had an UGLY vanity , it was wood with scalloped corners on the door inset and a horrible yellow speckled Formica countertop , at least the sink was ok , it was a plain white porcelain round sink , in good condition . You can paint it , I cut beadboard to cover the front of the doors and glued it on with lock right super glue . Then I painted the base an antique white , using a semi gloss paint . I waited a week , just because I wanted to spray paint the Formica and I needed to cover the base when needed to use masking tape to hold a cover in place and didn't want to damage the new paint job..duh, I should have done the countertop first !!! I bought plastic tablecloths from the dollar store and masking tape to cover everything to protect it from the over spray. I covered my sink and faucet very carefully. Then I used Rustoleum spray paint in a hammered bronze finish, I did 2 coats , and sealed it with a clear gloss coat . It held up fine , for a year , until I did my bathroom renovation . Good luck !
