How can I cover those small old white and brown tiles?
How can I cover these very old (down for 40 years) brown and white small tiles in my washroom? I don't like the look but don't want to spend the money to take them up and replace with something else. What can I do
to cover them. Also they're not all level. Anything??

It is real tiles or vinyl tiles?
if they are ceramic tiles, just paint them. use a good primer, let dry overnight, next day paint, few hours later repaint 2nd coat.. dry for 48 hours, add a clear sealer. and done. easy to do.
HiI Cecile,
You could paint a stencil on them. Here are several ideas I found on Hometalk.
Yes I would paint them! I painted my fireplace tile and it turned out great! https://jessicawellinginteriors.com/faux-cement-tile-fireplace/
Glad others had good answers. I'm not sure what to recommend for un-level tiles. You could possibly grind away some of the high areas with an angle grinder, but that may affect the look, so I'd probably ignore that.
