Lots of videos on Youtube and tons of articles on how to do this.
My tub was cast iron, so I smacked it with a sledge hammer to remove it. I bought a fiberglass shower pan, but you could put down cement board and mortar Sloped to the drain and add small tiles to that. I lined the walls with cement board and tiled the walls. The part of the tub/shower water valve needs to have the tub fill opening plugged. Best bet is to buy a new valve so you will have the temperature protection found in new plumbing.
Thanks for the suggestions and I’ll probably checkout you tube also.
