It depends on the material it's made from. If it's wood, you can sand, restain and seal it. You can also give a couple of coats of paint.
Refinish as in staining or in painting? If paint. Remove all hardware, doors and drawers. Wash down with TSP. Sand off sheen, prime with oil based primer. Lightly sand again with 220 grit. Paint with oil based paint. Will protect from moisture and be most durable, no sealer needed.
If it's in good shape and you want to paint it, scuff with fine steel wool then clean with denatured alcohol. Then you can prime and paint it. You can also replace or paint the hardware.
Lightly sand with 220 grit sandpaper to remove any gloss. prime with Kilz primer. Paint your color. Latex acrylic paint is easy. Seal with three coats of a water based polyurethane.
Hi Carol! You can easily paint with a chalk based or mineral based paint. :) Annie sloan, Jolie and Dixie Belle all work great on bathroom cabinets! :) They also require no sanding or priming!
Use chalk paint and then wax to seal.
Hi Carol,
