Do you have a door or curtain with a liner?
And keep the curtain INSIDE the tub
If a curtain, pay NO attention to the decorating mags, and put the curtain inside the tub or shower pan. Once you're done, and the curtain has dripped dry, then place it prettily outside the tub again.
Get a plastic liner to hang inside the tub. Keep that inside the tub when you shower. If you don't have a door, Get an adjustable tension shower rod - Hang a liner on that and then just pull it across opening when you need to use it.
A lot of the time the shower curtain is too small to reach completely across the tub or shower or it is too short. if it is not wide enough use 2 (or 2 liners)
If it is too short.... sew fabric on the top
