How do I update a tiny master bathroom?

The master bathroom in our home is only 6x8, with a dated whirlpool tub which has become a safety hazard, now that we are in our 70s. There is a dressing area between the bathroom and closet that could become part of the master bath, but I am concerned that the closet will be too damp if part of the bathroom. I need design ideas!

I'd get rid of the tub and do a shower. No glass doors, easy accessibility with room for a seat of some type, bench, shower chair... My hus is severely disabled and everyday it's a struggle getting him in and out of the tub. We should have renovated or moved before he got so ill.

    Good luck!

Hi. The closets will not be a problem if there is proper ventilation. Request 2 or 3 quotes from design firms. Redoing the bathroom can cost from about $5000 to put in a regular sized tub on up depending on what you want to do. Expect the job to be between 4 to 8 weeks.
