How to update a prefab fiberglass shower?

My shower is prefab fiberglass, yellowing, and ugly no matter how much I scrub it. Is there any way to update is without having to replace it?

I have heard hydrogen peroxide and a non abrasive brush can clean it but haven't tried yet. Other then that I believe there are paints specifically for fiberglass.

Hi I have the same problem and found this article

    https://www.hunker.com/13421638/how-to-whiten-plastic-or-fiberglass-tubs-showers

I am going to give it a try all but the LAST one, I am a bit leary of using Acetone or turpentine.

Try cleaning with Easy Off No Fume Oven Cleaner in the BLUE can. Works on enamel, porcelain, and fiberglass.

My tub is turning orange from a new well with too much iron in the water. I tried a few store bought cleaners that did not work. I was in my shop cleaning/loosening some screws on a project and using WD40 in a spray can. I thought the WD40 might just work on the tub and tub surround.

so I tried it and it actually worked. Just spray on and wipe off. So, certainly with a try. Good luck.

My shower was doing the same. After using everything to clean it, I decided to paint with marine, spar paint available at improvement stores. I cleaned the shower, and let it dry using a fan for 3 days. It was probably dry before that, but to be safe that is what I did. I used two coats letting it dry 24 hrs. before the second coat. Then I added tiles over the flat areas if the shower. Tiles may or may not look good depending on the design of your unit.

I did this over a year ago with no problems at all. It really looks good. Best wishes.
