What is the best kind of bath tile?
We are making our old sistern room into a spa bath. What tiles are good for nonslip floors, easy shower and wall cleanup? What color is the easiest cleanup?

Tile shopping is fun! Or at least I think so. Do not limit yourself to what a local hardware or big box home improvement store carries. There are millions of independent tile shops and suppliers across the country. Seek them out, they have great products. Kitchen and bath showrooms are also a great resource. The possibilities are only limited by your imagination and, of course, your pocketbook. For the flooring, I would use one of the new non skid finishes. For the walls, add detail by combining different sizes, styles and texture for interest. If you have hard water, lighter tiles camouflage water spots better than dark high gloss tiles. Ask before purchase for the recommended cleaning process and if any special cleaners are required.
I agree with Naomie about most of her post, but when you go to tile shops be prepared for sticker shock! Don’t limit yourself to just the big box stores stock though! They have tons of special order items available and looking online works if you are patient and they have a return policy. DO be careful to have textured tile or mosaic (not as fun to clean) on the floor so no one slips and falls.
Thank you both for good advice on the tile.
