What’s the best way to lay new flooring under a claw foot tub?

We have a house built around the early 1900’s. The bathroom has an awesome claw foot tub, but the flooring is faded, old, worn out. We have left over tongue and groove flooring we have laid in the rest of the bathroom, and have stopped at the claw feet. Maybe we need to lay something different under the tub, spray paint etc.. Any ideas are appreciated!!

Honestly, I would have disconnected the tub, installed the flooring, then reinstalled the tub.
I agree with Naomie. To lay any type of flooring without disconnecting the tub first wont work.
